August 8, 9, & 10, 2008
Friday/Saturday 8:00 p.m. Sunday 2:30 p.m.
Local historian and playwright, Betty Laird, wrote a fictionalized account of events in Lawrence during the time of Quantrill's raid. The play is at once a love story, the story of the arrival of the first woman professor at KU, and the story of the Lawrence windmill
Through a grant from the Lawrence Arts Commission and additional support from Douglas County Bank, the play will be produced in conjunction with Civil War Days in August and with the Clinton Lake Historical Museum. Local historical information and windmill exhibits will be on display in the Theatre's Gladys Six Green Room.
The show is under the direction of Mary Ann Saunders. Set design is by Jack Riegle, lighting design by Ron Chinn and costume design by Cynthia Evans.
