Lawrence Community Theatre

Roles include:

• Natalie (young woman more at home in overalls than a dress, mezzo)
• Chad (young man, motorcyclin', leather-jacketed roustabout, tenor)
• Jim (Natalie's father, middle aged, rather messy widower, tenor)
• Dennis (awkward young man who aspires to be a dentist, good range and strong falsetto)
• Miss Sandra (wordly woman, lovely caretaker of town's museum, mezzo or alto)
• Lorraine (Sylvia's teenage daughter, pretty, smart, total romantic, mezzo)
• Sylvia (Lorraine's mother, owns the Honky Tonk, no-nonsense mezzo)
• Matilda (conservative mayor of the town, but sings in gospel style, mezzo)
• Dean Hyde (Matilda's teenage son who attends military school)
• Sheriff Earl (a man of few words who is the law in town and follows the Mayor)
• Virginia (Townsperson, any age, soprano)
• All ages of male and female ensemble of townspeople able to sing rock and roll style!

    The fun part of this show is that there is no Elvis impersonator, everyone sings the Elvis songs.

    Production dates are September 19, 20, 21, 25, 26, 27, 28, October 2. 3, 4, & 5. Rehearsals typically start the Sunday after auditions and take place Sunday through Thursday from 7PM to 10PM

    Those auditioning are asked to prepare an Elvis song (or at least something in that style). Scripts may be checked out from the theatre office at 1501 New Hampshire St. A $10 deposit is required to check out scripts but is refunded when the script is returned.
