About the show:
Family Musical. Come with us and step into a world of pure imagination this holiday season! The mysterious Willy Wonka is opening the gates to his factory in what could be a life changing moment for young Charlie Bucket. This adaptation includes music from the 1971 film favorite such as “Candy Man” and “Pure Imagination” along with fun new music. This is your golden ticket to entertainment.
Character Descriptions:
Charlie Bucket (10-14 years old). Treble/Boy Soprano, F5-G#3
Will be played by a child. A kind-hearted, humble boy/girl from a poor family who finds the golden ticket and wins a tour of Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory. Charlie is in nearly every scene and the actor should be able to handle the demands of the role
Willy Wonka (30-50 years old) Tenor/Baritone, G4-A2.
The sly, charming, ‘eternally youthful’ namesake of the show. His larger than life persona can go from charming and comical, to magically mysterious and dark. Must have the ability to be filled with boundless energy and be physically light on their feet.
Grandpa Joe (Male presenting, 55+) Baritone, G4-G#2. The grandfather we all wish we had; caring, patient, ready for an adventure, and always reminding you to look on the bright side. Vocals backed by strong character choices.
Mrs. Bucket
(Female presenting, 30+ years old) Mezzo-Soprano. E5-G3. Charlie's warm and kindhearted mother who is a worrier (& a warrior). Generous, loving, nurturer.
Grandma Josephine (Female presenting, 50-80) Soprano/Mezzo/Alto, D5-C4. One of Charlie’s grandparents who is bed-ridden.
Grandma Georgina (Female Presenting 50-80) Soprano/Mezzo/Alto, E5-Ab3. Another of Charlie’s grandparents who is bed-ridden.

Augustus Gloop (Male presenting, 11-15 years old) Baritone, G5-Bb3
A youthful boy who is round and full faced, and very overactive. Strong singer and comedic actor. Speaks with a German accent.
Mrs Gloop (Female presenting, 30+) Mezzo-Soprano, D5-Bb3. Augustus's German, overindulgent mother, who is constantly trying to satisfy her son’s insatiable appetite. Has Wagnerian tendencies; a large presence with a huge voice. Speaks with a German accent.
Veruca Salt (Female presenting, 11-15 years old) Mezzo-Soprano, D5-Bb3. Wealthy, class conscious, and completely spoiled. Requires a strong, confident actress with a flair for drama. Classical ballet skills a plus but not required. Pointe shoes not required, but indicate if you have them and are a dancer and/or gymnast. Speaks with a Russian accent
Mr. Salt (Male presenting, 40+) Tenor, Ab4-Ab2. Veruca's goofy, eccentric, distracted, hilarious father. Finds it impossible to say no, giving in to every ridiculous demand his daughter makes.
Violet Beauregarde (BIPOC, Female Presenting, 11-15 years old) Soprano/Mezzo/Alto, F#5 – C#4. A competitive and brash girl obsessed with being the best. Must have a commanding stage presence and be able to sing.
Mr. Beauregarde (BIPOC, Male presenting, 30+) Baritone, G4-F#3. Violet's ineffectual father. Ignores his back-talking, insult-hurling daughter.
