ABOUT US

Mission Statement

 Theatre Lawrence partners with volunteers to create and deliver extraordinary theatre and education programs that engage community members of all ages and backgrounds as audience members and participants.

Vision Statement

To be the premier Theatre in Northeast Kansas

Founded in 1977, Theatre Lawrence is a non-profit 501(c)(3) arts organization governed by a board of directors. Our 35,000 square foot facility, located at 4660 Bauer Farm Drive in Lawrence, KS, opened its doors in 2013.

  • Six show regular season of musicals and play
  • Additional productions and events throughout the season
  • Growing educational program offering classes and productions for youth
  • Annual Penguin Project production for young performers with special needs
  • Vintage Players program spotlighting older performers
  • Classes and workshops for adults
  • Winner of the Twink Lynch Organizational Achievement Award, presented by the American Association of Community Theatre (2017)
  • Full-time staff of theatre professionals supported by active and dedicated volunteer base
