Due to popular demand we are adding another audition day! We will now audition on Monday, Feb. 24, AND Tuesday, Feb. 25. New auditions slots have been added for Tuesday. Callbacks will now be on Wednesday, Feb. 26
Audition Date: Monday, Feb. 24 & Tuesday, Feb. 24 at 7 p.m.
Callbacks: Wednesday, Feb. 26
First rehearsal: Sunday, March 2
Show Dates: April 25-27, May 1-4
Casting: 7 women, 7 men
All of these characters are “types”, designed to maximize the farcical quality of the production. None of them “develop”, they instead seek the comic intent of each moment.
Director: Piet R. Knetsch
Stage Manager: John Mitchell
About the show:
Comedy whodunit. Was it the pipe in library? The rope in the kitchen? Or the laughs in the theatre? Based on the 1985 film and the iconic board game this hilarious comedy brings together six mysterious guests for a dinner party on a dark and stormy night. When the host is suddenly killed, it’s a race to the finish to see just who did it where and with what.
Character Descriptions
Wadsworth, The epitome of the (fake!) British Butler, seemingly very formal and in control. He is in fact the character who pushes the story along, at a very brisque pace!
Yvette, the sexy French maid; [open to differing interpretations of this character!] The French accent is very much over the top! Think Peter Sellers
Mr. Boddy, (also a fake), very slick, polished, suave, confident and charming.
The six “Guests” who have come to play this “game”:
Colonel Mustard, overbearing, pompous, a real military blowhard
Mrs. White, morbid, plays the tragedy all the time; pale, with veil.
Mrs. Peacock, wealthy, nutty, excessive, easily hysterical; covered with jewelry.
Mr. Green, filled with anxieties; prim & proper rule follower; timid
Professor Plum, officious academic, yet charming. Loves himself.
Miss Scarlet, sardonic, a D.C madam; provocative, bold.
Members of the “Ensemble”: minimum of 2 women and 2 men to play the Cook (a scary character!), Motorist (prissy perhaps?), Cop (gruff?), Telegram Girl or Woman (sings & tap dances), Chief of Police (confused?). All but the Chief of Police are murdered, and as “bodies” they are put in some precarious physical positions!
In all, there are roles for 7 women and 7 men. Have fun auditioning for this farcical romp!
