Emily joined the Theatre Lawrence family in February 2022. She has a BA in Acting and Design from Trinity University, a MS in Elementary Education from Winona State University, and a MS in Theatre Students- Production and Education from Southern Oregon University. Emily’s love for theatre started when she was very young and regularly put on one woman versions of her favorite musicals for her family. Before relocating to Lawrence, she spent 19 years teaching theatre in two Wichita private schools. What always started out as a job teaching high school classes, Emily expanded to teaching and directing shows for middle and elementary students as well. One highlight of Emily’s career was taking a group of high school students to perform at the International Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2014. Her students presented four short plays by William Inge as a tribute to growing up in the Midwest. In her spare time, Emily enjoys spending time with her family, going to see live music, and working on various mosaic projects.
